About us: Our History

In the beginning

Little Stevie Tindle never dreamed that the toys he got on Christmas Day in 1960 would lead to a successfully satisfying career 35 years later.

He was beside himself when he opened his brand new Mattel Creepy Crawler Goop Thingmaker that morning, and then, even better, a Vac U Form Demolition Derby kit! “Makes Almost Anything” the box said.

With these two kits, his Erector set, and his dads 9" radial arm saw with a monster tooth blade close at hand, Steve could create and build "almost everything."

Building Garage Graphics & Visuals

Big Cedar Lodge
Bass Pro Shops

His first signs were for Big Cedar Lodge and Bass Pro Shops, and were all hand carved, or hand hammered, and hand painted. Twelve years later, Bass Pro Shops is still his primary client.

In 1995, at age 31, after working several years with a Springfield, Missouri sign company, he moved into his old wooden garage to make signs on his own. He named his business "Garage Graphics."
